President and Vice-president election has held on
18-02-2008.Smt.Rita Fernandes and Sri.Philomen Raj Prasad have
been elected as president and Vice president respectively.

Bidar is one of 57 Karnataka cities in the
Nirmala Nagara - Municipal eGovernance project. On Aug 15th 2005 each
of the 57 cities will get a comprehensive website as well as the Public
Grievance & Redressal module. Other important modules to be
launched by June 2006 are Property
Tax, Financial Accounting GIS Mapping, Birth & Death
Certification, and Ward Works. Nirmala
Nagara project is a partnership between the Urban Development Dept,
eGovernments
Foundation &
Survey of India. These computer based systems coupled with Govt.
process re-engineering and GIS digital mapping will provide
transparency and accountability and smoother delivery of services to

The Shiva Linga idol here is one of those installed by Shri
RAM during the time
of his journey back from Lanka. The location of the temple in a valley is
mesmerising to the eyes. Every year at the time of Shivrathri festival a lot of
tourists visit this place. A natural spring flows into a pond in front of the
temple which is called 'Papnasha'

Muhammad III Mahmud Gawan. Prime Minister, i ntroduced
many reforms, Great Madarsa of Mahmud Gawan was found by Gawan in 1472 A.D, Goa
annexed to Bahmani Kingdom.
Gurudwara Bidar is
one of Holiest Place for Sikhs. Every Year this place attracts lots of tourists
from all parts of the country particularly during the months of November and
March. Legend has it
that Saint Guru Nanak visited the palce while the land was
in the grip of a famine The Guru performed a miracle at the request of the
locals and a spring of water from the laterite rock mountain burst out. Till
this day crystal clear water flows from the laterite trap.The belief is that
drinking of this water cures many ailments.
